Healthcare Reform Bill

Health Care Reform Bill

Opinions on the Health Care Reform Bill swing in many different directions. Some like it some hate it, but every one has different reasons for their opinions. Some people like it for their jobs, some people hate it for their jobs. Some people like it for their families, some people hate it for their families. Some people hate the tax increase, some people love it. I don’t like the idea of a centralized government health care because of the taxing and who it is really based for. Taking from the working class and giving to those in poverty (Monique). It gives the government too much control (Grassley) and will eventually lead to loss of consumers and leading to Medicare employees losing jobs.

The Health Care Reform Bill was created by out governement, it was made for the people earning under 133% of the poverty line (Monique) could have affordable Health care, so for those of us that are paying this tax are not actually getting to use it as much as the people that are not paying for it. It is giving the government more control over Health care so now private Health care so now private Health care companies need to keep their consumers close and interested (Grassley). Along with governments control they are going to require buisnesses with 50 or more people to give their employees Health care (Monique). And another issue with that is that if some companies refuse to pay that, now what happens to those people. "The more firms do that , the more people will be looking to the government" says Trumbell. Many people are worries about how this will effect their taxes and it is going to hurt. It will increase governement spending by 2 trillion dollars and will cost each American almost 6000 dollars.

In a song I found on the internet called Rock-A-Bye Health care they claim that the Health care is only for the rich and it’s not for the working poor. It says they need to make it free for the “regular” people because they can not afford the government Health care and they need to make it free for the children. This song supports my claim because they say it gives the government more control. About how their insurance is not for profit and how it is not for everybody even though they are paying for it. can not find anything on this song to make it true since the articles i have found are arguing that the Health care Bill is for those in poverty, or around that poverty level (Monique, Wessley, Trimble). In all of their articles somewhere is talks about Health care for the people less worthy. And from Trimbles article he talks about how children can not be denied healthcare on any circumstances, they are required to treat them.

Taxes are a very big deal to the people, they do not like spending their money on stuff they do not want or need. “Taxing and cost are the biggest issues for making the Healthcare system” (Kronenfeld 2). Monique claims that as a taxpayer she would much rather spend her money her own way. Like pay for her daughters college or save it for her retirement with the 6000 dollars she could really do anything she wanted to do with it. Rather then spend it on Health care that she does not need. Trumbell talked to a government agency about cost and they said "It is unclear whether such a reduction in the growth rate of [Medicare] spending could be achieved, and if so, whether it would be accomplished through greater efficiencies in the delivery of health care or through reductions in access to care or the quality of care," Overall her opinions depend on which way she is looking at it such as her profession or her child or as a taxpayer. Since I am 18 and working a labor job and paying taxes now I know where she is coming from. My job already gives me a private Health care plan, and on top of that they are going to want me to pay more for Health care which i am not going to use? This Health care is for the poor but the working class are paying the price.

Some politicians think that this health care reform bill will give the government to much control over private/public Health care (Grassley). Something needed to happen about Health care but he believe there should be another solution to some of our problems. This will eventually lead to the government having complete control over health care. It allows the government to much room to change and allowing them to much room to grow. Grassey predicts that this will eventually lead to the government having full control over healthcare. They take no serious steps into reducing cost for taxpayers. The bill makes new taxes which will be pushed directly to the consumer. Not only that is makes insurance premiums for lots of people, and make tighter allowable price variation for insurance rates.

Healthcare is a hard plan to get to work, and to get used to. But currently it is not working for us. You may be paying 6000 dollars for it but you are probably not receiving it. I still believe that it will give the government to much control in the future (Grassley). Leading to loss of jobs for healthcare employees. Although I do agree healthcare is a good thing for people to have, but it is unnecessary to have government have complete control of it.
